About me

I believe that getting a tattoo is a deeply personal act that needs to be treated accordingly. And I take on the role of guiding people through this journey who choose my art to be part of their skin for the rest of their lives.

I specialise in large-scale freehand tattooing, where I design the whole project directly on the skin during our first session. My style and designs are always changing and evolving over the years, so you can see a lot of different and at the same time recognizable signature elements between older and newer projects. It happens because clients contribute their ideas to the design process, often inspiring unexpected combinations and new interpretations of elements I have used in the past. This approach ensures that each tattoo is one-of-a-kind even if we are working within one of my series, tailored not only to your body but also to your personal vision. I believe that it is about more than just ink. It’s about trust. I work with all kinds of clients—regardless of skin tone, body type, or skin issues—and I believe everyone deserves a tattoo that feels like it was meant for them. For me, the process starts with listening and ends with a piece that resonates deeply with the person wearing it.

Shortly about a long journey:

I was born and raised in Donetsk (Ukraine), have basic art education from Donetsk Art College in Interior Design specialty. I worked as a designer for some years and started tattooing in my free time back in 2007, as I had always been interested in this craft. Being the only female artist (at least to my knowledge) in my city at that time, as well as presenting a new view to tattooing, which already had enough representation in Western countries but hadn’t yet entered the Eastern European scene, I quickly gained some recognition in my local area as well as online. More modern and bold approach together with a classic painter precision to the details put me on a map of modern art tattooing very early in my career and around 2011, when I moved to Saint Petersburg (Russia), I decided to give tattooing my full time and attention. Being a young woman and seeing tattooing as a form of expression that doesn’t have to fit into boxes of already established styles, I had no chance to be working in big studios, so had to create my journey on my own. Shortly after opening a very small private studio in Saint Petersburg, I started receiving requests from other artistic women to teach them. This is how, very early by age and about 7 years after starting tattooing myself, I started educating new artists and, I have to admit, found myself in it. Of course back then I was way less experienced than I am now and had way less to propose, but together with amazing students, some of whom now became successful artists themselves, we started breaking some boundaries, which were still strong on that side of the world.

In 2014 Russia started a non-declared invasion of Ukraine from a few directions, one of which was the occupation of my hometown Donetsk in East Ukraine together with other territories of that region. During that year, as a Ukrainian passport holder living in Russia, I faced some bureaucratic and legal persecution, which along with the moral impossibility of remaining in this country, forced me to make a decision to move away. The next three years I spent in Brazil, where the incredible team at ‘Estudio Teix’ in Curitiba, Brazil, made me feel as much at home as possible when you just packed your whole life in three suitcases, leaving behind everything you worked for, as well as your friends and family inside of an occupied zone of active war. My time in Brazil gave me the opportunity to explore new depths of my style, delve deeply into the tribal culture of native Brazilian art, and experiment with bolder and bigger projects. But unfortunately, the country’s geographical isolation made work-related travel both time-consuming and costly, which led me to start searching for another place to call home.

Which brings me to Lisbon Portugal, where I’ve been based since June 2019 until now.

In 2021 I opened private NOT • A • TATTOO • STUDIO – 1399 LISBOA.

Started as a very private space for me and my students, dedicating almost a third of the space to my painting studio, over the years it became a very lively spot for many modern tattoo artists to visit as guests. Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, I also opened my doors for relocated artists from Ukraine and Russia, which created a community where art and humanity transcend politics. With all the amazing guests, residents, and students, I can say that I built my perfect studio the way I always imagined it.
With time Project 1399 LISBOA start growing naturally, and my passion for community building between artists of all kind lead to creation of 1399 LIVE • ART • ROOM in 2023,a physical representation of all of my ideas. It is a gallery, where I curate exhibitions of painting artists from around the world, it is a stage for musicians to present their projects, it is a cozy coffee shop where you can calmly work during the day or just come by to chat with our baristas, it is a space for workshops, social meet-ups, and many, many more.
I love that many of my regular clients, who travel for sessions with me, can feel at home in both of these spaces and also become a part of this little artsy world I am trying to build.

Starting 2025 I was invited to become part of IntenzeTM PRO TEAM ACADEMY,  to serve as one of ten global ambassadors, to drive education and innovation and lead the tattoo industry forward through education and transparency. It is a big honour, and I’m looking forward to seeing what awaits me in this new chapter of my life and career.
